Case Study: How Zenitech Helped GetFTR Scale, Innovate, and Strengthen Research Integrity

At GetFTR our goal is simple: ensure researchers can easily move from discovery to the full text of the publications they need. Since launching in 2020, GetFTR has become a trusted part of the research infrastructure, partnering with more than 70 platforms and supporting billions of entitlement checks. To scale the service and tackle growing challenges around trust, transparency, and research integrity, we’ve worked closely with Zenitech as our strategic development partner.

Zenitech has helped GetFTR to deliver several key enhancements, including retraction and update notifications, an increasingly critical feature in an era of information overload. This ensures researchers are alerted at the point of discovery when a paper has been corrected or retracted, helping them cite responsibly and avoid outdated findings.

They also developed the GetFTR Browser Extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, bringing GetFTR indicators and full text links to any website where scholarly content is cited. Additionally, it provides researchers with visibility into reuse rights, Open Access status, retractions, save to popular reference managers and more, on every website where an article has been located.. Feedback from early users has been overwhelmingly positive.

Together, GetFTR and Zenitech are continuing to improve full text access, strengthen trust, and support a more reliable and connected scholarly ecosystem.
