Product Update: Enhancements to the GetFTR Browser Extension

We’re excited to share the latest updates to the GetFTR Browser Extension, designed to make researchers’ lives easier and ensure they always access the most up to date trusted content.

Integration with AI Tools

The extension adds GetFTR buttons to AI research tools where an article can be identified and the researcher has access through an institution subscription or open access. Researchers who have downloaded the Browser Extension will see GetFTR buttons appear in Claude, ChatGPT, Google Scholar Labs AI tool, and more providing links to trusted sources and flagging retractions and updates. This ensures researchers can easily access the trusted full text without relying on the summary provided by the AI tool, giving both publishers and researchers confidence that the correct version of content is signposted at the point of discovery.

The extension now offers quick saving options for popular reference managers including: Mendeley, Zotero, RefWorks, and save to desktop. With a single click, researchers can save the document link to one of the supported reference managers.

Track Updates and Retractions

GetFTR doesn’t just help researchers access scholarly content, it supports research integrity and ensures researchers stay informed of any updates to an article. The extension highlights retractions and updates alongside detailed reasons and provides a timeline view of all changes, ensuring researchers are always working with the most accurate and up-to-date information.
