GetFTR and the Web of Science Partner to Streamline Research Discovery and Access
October 13th, 2025 – Integration brings GetFTR indicators and smart links to the Web of Science
GetFTR (Get Full Text Research) is excited to announce a new integration with the Web of Science from Clarivate, the world’s largest publisher-neutral citation index and research intelligence platform, and one of the most authoritative and widely used discovery resources in academic research.
As a result of this integration, GetFTR’s real-time entitlement checks enable the Web of Science to add full-text indicators, and smart links will be available within the Web of Science platform, helping researchers discover and access trusted full-text content more efficiently. The partnership also reflects the growing recognition of GetFTR’s role in the scholarly research ecosystem.
What This Means for Researchers & Publishers
- For researchers: GetFTR indicators will signpost where full text access is available (including subscribed, open access, and free content); smart links will take them directly to the content (or institutional sign in if not already signed in)
- For publishers: GetFTR partners, Open Access publishers, and publishers with open access content in hybrid journals will gain greater visibility and engagement as their content becomes more discoverable and accessible
This partnership brings the power of GetFTR to the Web of Science community. Dianne Benham, Product Director GetFTR said:
“This integration reinforces our mission to improve the research journey and GetFTR’s role as a key piece of infrastructure connecting discovery with access in scholarly publishing. Through this partnership, we look forward to delivering more trusted and reliable pathways to full-text content and enhancing discoverability for researchers worldwide.”
