24th June 2026

As we reach the halfway point of 2026, the scholarly communications landscape continues to evolve rapidly. Throughout these changes, GetFTR remains focused on a simple goal: helping researchers identify and access trusted full text, wherever their journey begins.

New Partners and Integrations

Over the past few months, GetFTR has continued to grow its network of publishers and discovery partners, helping connect more researchers to the content they are entitled to access.

We are delighted to welcome:

  • The Company of Biologists
  • ASHA Journals
  • Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS)

Together, these organisations publish some of the world’s most respected and influential research across the life sciences, communication sciences and multidisciplinary research.

We are also pleased to announce a new integration with EBSCO, marking GetFTR’s first partnership with an aggregator. This extends GetFTR’s reach within researcher workflows and expands GetFTR’s coverage to connect researchers with content their library has made available to them.

These additions strengthen the GetFTR community and further our shared goal of making access to trusted content clearer and easier from the point of discovery.

Product Update

Alongside supporting publishers and discovery tools as they onboard, GetFTR has added new features and is exploring new services.

This includes support for content accessed through aggregators, helping to ensure researchers can access content from either a publisher or aggregator platform, where their institution subscribes.

Enabling publishers to share their internal customer identifiers when responding to entitlement requests for content they have syndicated, to ease aggregation of both on and off platform COUNTER-compliant usage.

We’re also developing new benchmarking reports and librarian tools that will provide additional insight into how GetFTR supports access and discovery. Pilot programmes will launch soon, and we look forward to sharing more details with partners in the coming months.

Case Studies

As scholarly content is increasingly consumed beyond publisher platforms, understanding total usage has become more challenging. Our latest case study explores how GetFTR, ScienceDirect and Atypon are supporting COUNTER-compliant reporting for syndicated content, helping publishers and libraries gain a more complete picture of engagement.

Events – Connecting with the Community

Recent months have provided opportunities for the GetFTR team to connect with publishers, librarians and technology partners across the industry, including at:

  • FORCE11
  • STM US Annual Conference
  • CSE Annual Conference
  • SSP Annual Conference
  • NASIG
  • COUNTER Conference and AGM
  • PubTech and STM APAC Conference

We’re also delighted to be expanding our global reach, with recent conversations about GetFTR taking place in both Singapore and China.

These discussions continue to shape the future direction of GetFTR and help ensure that our development priorities reflect the needs of the community we serve.
