Retraction and Errata Enhancement: Supporting Research Integrity

The Retraction and Errata Enhancement adds crucial updates to scholarly content at the point of discovery. This essential information, sourced from Crossref and Retraction Watch, ensures that all articles with retraction or errata information are accurately marked.

This enhancement includes content from publishers both participating and not participating in GetFTR and displays updates even if the researcher does not have access to the full content. This demonstrates GetFTR’s commitment to supporting research integrity across our community.

Currently, this functionality is available to researchers using the GetFTR Browser Extension and can be made available to all GetFTR Integrators – including discovery tools, scholarly collaboration networks, reference managers, etc – should they wish to display it. It is also available to publishers that have integrated GetFTR with their references.

How does this work?

Retraction and Errata Enhancement

At the point of discovery, an “Update” or “Retraction” notification button will be shown with information provided by Crossref or Retraction Watch. This button alerts researchers to important changes or corrections and when clicked provides additional details in a timeline format, ensuring researchers have access to the most current and accurate information.
